Philippa is from a family of Baker Lake artists. Her father, Moses
Nagyugalik, is a print-artist, printmaker and sculptor; her mother, Victoria
Angrnaaluk, is a wallhanging artist, and her brother, Jimmy Nugyougalik, is a
printmaker. Philippa's husband, Thomas Iksiraq, is a printmaker and sculptor
in Baker Lake.
Phillipa has produced prints for many of the Baker Lake annual print
collections. Prior to 1975 she worked exclusively in stencil, at which time
she also began making silkscreen prints. In 1971 and 1975 her own drawings
were included in the annual collections. She has printed many drawings by
Kukiiyaut, and other artists such as Oonark and Anguhadluq. Frequently, she
signs her work with her maiden name Aningrniq.
