Pauloosie Karpik was the father of graphic artist Annie Akulukjuk, and
the stepfather of artists Imoona and Solomon Karpik.
"Pauloosie Karpik knew about the aspects of Inuit life that are not seen
anymore. He could speak truly about these things. Many of the ones who have
come after have heard about life then and are telling how it was, but
Pauloosie Karpik was there, and lived it."
