In addition to being a versatile artist, Kiakshuk was also a well-known
storyteller. His son Lukta Qiatsuk is a graphic artist and sculptor. Two
daughters, Ishuhungitok Pootoogook and the late Paunichea, became graphic
artists as well.

HONOURS, ACHIEVEMENTS and EVENTS: A series of large 'inuksuit' built by Kiakshuk were reassembled at Toronto
International Airport.
1958 Kiakshuk appeared in the National Film Board Film of Canada film "The Living
Stone" as the storyteller.
1979 Kiakshuk's 1960 print "Summer Tent" was reproduced on a Canadian seventeen
cent postage stamp issued September 13th.
