HONOURS, ACHIEVEMENTS and EVENTS: 1972 Took part in a film animation workshop, and contributed to the production of
Animation in Cape Dorset.
1975 Kingait Press. The artist produced a collection of prints for the Kingait
Press entitled 'Peter Pitseolak Drawings'.
1977 The World Wildlife Fund approached Cape Dorset, N.W.T., to plan and produce an
exceptional series of wildlife prints to be distributed under the worldwide
auspices of the Fund. The portfolio, launched in October 1977, included
prints after the late Peter Pitseolak; and is documented in the Cape Dorset
Graphic annual catalogue of 1978.
1977 Theo Waddington Galleries in Montreal commissioned a portfolio of prints
from the work of Peter Pitseolak. This work is documented in the Cape Dorset
Graphic annual catalogue of 1981.
1982 An Inuktitut film, "Peter Pitseolak: The Man Who Made Pictures", was
produced by the National Film Board's Multimedia Department. The English
version of this film won the 1981 Award of Excellence from the Amtec Media
Festival. A copy of this film strip was donated to all Northern schools that
received the McCord touring exhibit 'Peter Pitseolak: Photographer of
Seekooseelak.'
