Sculpture
Shorty carved and sold his first sculptures in 1966. He prefered to work with
ivory, etching especially, but was content with stone and antler. He was
largely self-taught, but recalled watching others carve. He was quite prolific
but enjoyed carving only if he had satisfactory tools. His son Simeonie is now
also carving.
