This vintage scrimshawed tusk is beautifully executed, the drawings are exceptionally clean and carefully placed, nicely fitting into the form of the tusk; the inking is delicate and precise...all in all this is a desirable stand alone piece or addition to an established collection.

Innuki Oqutak often had Stephen Kootoo of Frobisher Bay (N.W.T) carve the bases for his intricately scrimmed walrus tusks, as is the case for this work.
