Artist Statement * This picture is supposed to show our old ways in winter. This fellow down here looks more like a white man though, it could mean a white person is visiting the camp.Do you see the dogsled? In winter you’d use water to make the sled go faster. If it had metal runners; you would first coat them with blood, then warm water. When the colour of the blood turns blackish it will stick to the metal, even if your sled hits a rock or ice.*
