Description
Artist Statement – * I can explain this, as we grew up with it. We’re stretching and drying skins to use for clothing. The ones with hair left on are for clothing, and the rest, for skin boots. When Tommy got a seal of this kind, I admired its yellow colour, and beautiful long hair. Our ancestors could recognize these rare seals. In those times, our hunters could hunt by themselves, before it was regulated by white people. We still prefer foods from the land, because we grew up with them. Above the skins, Inuit are playing ball to celebrate the successful hunt.*
