Descripción: Artist Quote * In winter, when everyone lived in igloos, we would make camp out on the sea ice. If we were on land, we would try to camp near the floe edge. The full extended family is shown here, some out hunting, towing their catch of seal home. The kayaks are up on blocks to keep their skins out of the reach of dogs, with any of the traces of the hunt carefully removed. They were kept from getting any rips, as they were so important to our survival. These Inuit are happy with their lives. The young women are out playing, and some of their children are playing too. That's what we did when we were kids. We cut snow blocks and tried to build igloos. When they'd fall down, wouldn't we get mad ! We wanted our igloos to be just so.*
